SRCHA was established to promote and preserve the radio controlled helicopter hobby and to encourage camaraderie among people with similar interests.
We are located in Mesa Arizona, which is a suburb of Phoenix, we have great flying weather all year long and welcome all visitors and spectators. Mesa city parks Department has issued a permit to SRCHA for R/C Helicopter flying at the retention basins on Elliot between Ellsworth and Signal Butte Rd.'s Basin 114. Although this site is available seven days a week the majority of our club meets on Sunday mornings.
Anyone wishing to fly at this site must follow the rules as stated by Mesa city parks Dept:
- Pilots must have some form of liability insurance equal to or greater than $2.5 million. AMA Insurance
- Pilots must obtain a permit from Mesa city parks or join a club with a permit.
- Flying is only permitted in Basin 114. (helicopters only).
- No flying is permitted if the field is currently in use.
- The field must be kept clean.
